Beaulieu Vineyard - Celebrating 125 Years

Nestled in the heart of Napa Valley, Beaulieu Vineyard (BV) stands as a testament to over a century of winemaking excellence. Established in 1900 by Georges and Fernande de Latour, BV has always been a cornerstone of Napa’s rich viticultural history.

AN ENDURING LEGACY

What began as a joyful exclamation — “Quel beau lieu!” or “What a beautiful place!” — grew into a 125-year, unwavering commitment to innovation and quality. Georges and Fernande de Latour’s passion for crafting world-class wines set a new standard for what Napa Valley could be, and guides BV to this day. Their flagship, Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, made with global winemaking icon André Tchelistcheff, became one of the most-collected American wines of all time.

CLONE EXPRESSION TASTING

AVAILABLE ALL YEAR. RESERVATIONS
RECOMMENDED, WALK-INS WELCOMED.

In 1980, Beaulieu Vineyard began a 14-year series of trials in conjunction with University of California at Davis to identify
Cabernet Sauvignon clones — grape “twins” with very subtle differences in their characteristics — best suited for the famed Rutherford Bench terroir. Clones 4, 6, and 169 were ultimately chosen for grafting to rootstocks planted in BV’s estate vineyards.

This unique tasting experience explores the journey to the selection of these clones and how they create unique aromas,
flavors, and textures in BV’s wines.
