And it certainly doesn’t fit the traditional “old-school steakhouse” model either. Michael Galyen, his wife Krista, and their family have created  the perfect modern hybrid of the two. Since opening the restaurant in March 2018, Galyen brought the best of both worlds to the south end of Napa, a historically underserved fine dining desert. Located in the South Napa Century Center, this polished steakhouse with an open kitchen and intimate dining room is surrounded by bespoke dark wood and leather finishes and effortlessly blurs the lines of a fine dining restaurant and an upscaled sports-themed eatery. Complete with an authentic gymnasium basketball court for the flooring, the lounge area boasts a 28-seat bar with a giant scoreboard and eight, 55-inch TVs overhead for maximum adrenaline-pulsing viewing of your favorite sports team, seven days a week. 

Having managed Michelin-starred establishments globally for Morimoto, and Napa institutions such as Don Giovanni and Bottega, Michael leveraged his expertise in haute cuisine to give rise to the much-needed affordability and accessibility a neighborhood locale could provide. His goal is to serve the true Napa locals by offering value alongside thoughtful service and the highest quality ingredients whilst still drawing in out-of-towners looking for exceptional food, drink, and ambiance.  

Classics Meet Cutting-Edge

The back of the house team is led by Chef Jose Gonalez who showcases the inventiveness of California cuisine partnered with all the classics you’d expect at a cosmopolitan steakhouse. For smaller bites, diners can choose from an eclectic offering of barbequed pork sliders, their house-version of Napa nachos, deep fried Shishito Peppers, Fritto Misto, chicken wings, and a variety of salads. Headlining the main event is Certified Angus Beef ®, hand-cut prime rib, Wagyu beef burgers, surf and turf options, and all the requisite side dishes like mashed potatoes done three ways: butter, truffle, and garlic; coleslaw, sauteed greens or mixed vegetables, pasta dishes, kid’s meals, and so much more. And unlike most steakhouses, your steak entrée comes with two sides and a sauce included. Save room for sweets and enjoy their famous pies and carrot cake, lovingly baked by Michael’s mother who heads up the dessert menu.

The wine list leans primarily Californian featuring prominent big red and luscious white producers, and with Michael’s connections in the business, he has access to vintages and rare bottlings that you simply won’t find elsewhere. Their mixology program showcases over 30 whiskeys and other premium liquors in seasonal cocktails, along with tap beers and local microbrews. Don’t miss their daily Happy Hour from 11am to 5pm featuring $5 draft beers.

If you’re looking to host a private gathering, their glass-walled dining space adjacent to the main dining room continues the tasteful sports theme with a table made from a reclaimed bowling alley lane and seats up to 12 people. From intimate family celebrations to business functions, this unique party space keeps the crowds away while still feeling connected to all the action.

For outdoor options, their patio dining can accommodate up to 40 people and it’s where you can enjoy an outdoor stage featuring live music on Saturdays, 6pm-9pm from May to September.  
Back inside, the main Sports Lounge is designed with an infinity bar, 14 HDTVs, private and extra-large booths, low and high-top tables and is ideal for small or large gatherings.
